![]() ![]() While waiting for paperwork, the original salesman came over to where we were waiting, and started trying to partly blame us for the situation. The salesman had made a mistake, and CarMax was trying to get us to take responsibility for it. Management of CarMax wanted my husband to sign a Return Agreement, but the reason CarMax stated for the Reason for Vehicle Return was “Does not like vehicle appearance.” This was not the case. We decided to return the car, and not do business with CarMax. We could look at the car that we had the paperwork for, but they would not correct their paperwork and allow us to keep the car that we wanted. We went over to the office and spoke to the manager, he said there was nothing they could do. We felt that this was the error of the salesman, and CarMax should rectify the situation. CarMax asked us to return the car, and we could take possession of the car in the paperwork - one that we hadn’t seen or test driven. The car that we had test driven and agreed to purchase was approximately $3000 more than the quoted price in the paperwork. Apparently, the salesman had incorrectly put the VIN of another car in the paperwork. Saturday morning, my husband got a call from the salesman. Papers were signed, keys given, and he drove away in the car. On Friday, my husband went to CarMax with check in hand to complete the purchase. We wanted it to present to him on Saturday, before graduation. Went to CarMax on West Sahara on Thursday to purchase a car for a graduation present for our son. Joe said he’ll look into the details, talk to his partner, the General Manager, and let me know. I later called back asking for a general manager and spoke with Joe in Operations/Sr Management whom confirmed he does oversee Anthony/Tony. I asked to speak with the next level person as I felt this was unacceptable he replied there was no one else (lie #3). he also stated I’d have to speak with the sales manager for any dissatisfaction with the “expectation” from the salesman. The kept circling around we’ve done everything we can do, you can bring it in to try again but he didn't believe there was anything different that could be done. I spoke with an Anthony/Tony whom stated he was the head of ops/oversees service. I’ve asked to be contacted by a manager several times but was not, so I called. We’ve since brought it in 4+ times to have it cleaned/treated for smoke smell with no resolution. Shortly after owning the vehicle, the cleaner wore off leaving the distinct smell of smoke. We noticed an odd odor, which the salesman stated was the chemical cleaner they use (lie #2). It arrived shortly and we came in to purchase it. We started the transfer process, asked if there were any issues or SMELLS, to which they replied no (lie #1), and paid to have it shipped. We came in to see a few models, decided on one and found the one we wanted another store to be transferred. The car buying process was fine and as promised however, they lied to sell me a car. RUN AWAY AND DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! After the sale you are just a piece of trash to them So they finally take the truck in to get repaired and they don't bother to call me and update me, nor provide me a loaner vehicle. Don't bother calling the 800 number, they're just a feel good hotline that takes a memo and sends it to the same people who are causing the problems. This leads me to believe THEY DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE RESELLING IT!!!! The vehicle also has this blackish powdery substance all over under the hood. ![]() I called to make an appointment to get it checked, and they told me it would take at least 10 days to get it in there!!! They truck is less than 2 weeks old (conveniently broke down after the 7 day period) and they expect me to wait that long for things that should have been dealt with before it was put up for sale. If you can buy from somewhere else, DO IT! RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!! They crashed one of our cars on the lot, then sold us another that had a RODENT NEST under the hood, LEAKING OIL, electrical problems, etc.
